About the Event:
This presentation will provide an overview of the Binghamton University Watson Industrial Outreach office and how it is transforming Continuing Education for Professional Development, Workforce Development and providing for Industry training needs. Watson Continuing Education provides professional development and outreach services to the engineering community and technology-intensive industry. Programs sponsored by the Office of Engineering Professional Development also support technology transfer and share the school's intellectual expertise with the global community. As part of the office's mission to support lifelong professional development, there are regular seminars, symposia, short courses, workshops, conferences, and other programs offered to the engineering community. These programs address emerging engineering issues vital to innovation and global competitiveness.
About the Speaker: Mike Testani, Senior Director of Industrial Outreach and Strategic Partnership for Industrial Resurgence - Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science
After earning his undergraduate degree from Alfred University, Mike received his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Binghamton University Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering. Mike worked for local companies, Universal Instruments and Dovatron Corporation, before spending 20 years at IBM starting in quality systems engineering and progressing to various managerial and leadership roles before moving over to his current role at Binghamton University. Under Mike's leadership, the Watson Industrial Outreach office has significantly contributed to Professional and Workforce Development programs teaming with Industry partners for a robust continuing education portfolio.
