Title: Professional Development Meeting - Project Assumption versus Project Risks - Adrian Buzea - Feb 18, 2021 Joint Meeting with the Binghamton Section of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Abstract: Identifying project risk is the most difficult aspect of the project management process. In his presentation, Adrian will provide practical methodologies that address the specific challenge of identifying the risks. He will debate the “accepted wisdom” theory versus risks and will entertain the audience with numerous examples from his past and current career, as well as historical engineering projects. Speaker: Adrian Buzea began his career as an ophthalmologist in Romania and progressed to a quality engineer in United States. Having come to the country in 1999 with little English, he started from scratch with his first noteworthy position being a Quality Assurance Manager at a medical device company in Florida. In 2003, he and his family moved to Cortland, New York where he worked as a Chemist and Senior Microbiologist in two local companies: Marietta and Intertek. His first position as a quality engineer was with Pfizer in North Carolina and he followed his path ever since, also working as leader of the quality assurance department at JM Murray. Adrian currently is a quality engineer at Pall Corporation which is a global supplier of filtration, separation, and purification products.
