Earn PDUs as Hadassah Mativetsky, Quality Engineer at Universal Instruments will overview the theoretical basis for prosocial and we will look at some of the plethora of Agile tools to see how Prosocial might help us select the right Agile tool for our teamwork need. We will model some of the exercises. Start Time: 6:30 PM EST Applying Prosocial Tools to Agile Teams Hadassah Mativetsky Quality Engineer at Universal Instruments Abstract Much of Agile is about teamwork. We care more about the team's output as opposed to any individuals. We need every team member to be a leader, to be accountable, and to work together. But how do we get group members to be more prosocial (as opposed to anti-social)? Nobel Prize winner Elinor Ostrom and SUNY Distinguished Prof. David Sloan Wilson came together to join the concepts of common-pool resources and multi-level selection to start what is now called “Prosocial”. Since then, many other academics and practitioners have come on board in its development, particularly psychologists working in Contextual Behavioral Science. This talk will overview the theoretical basis for prosocial and we will look at some of the plethora of Agile tools to see how Prosocial might help us select the right Agile tool for our teamwork need. We will model some of the exercises. About the Speaker Hadassah Mativetsky started as a Quality Engineer at Universal Instruments. Prior to working as an Engineer, Hadassah was a program and research coordinator at Binghamton University under Distinguished Professor David Sloan Wilson. She has been involved and interested in David’s work on Prosocial since she was a graduate student. Hadassah completed her facilitation training to guide groups through the Prosocial process and is interested in seeing how it can complement Agile. She is active in the American Society for Quality and Toastmasters International and was recently awarded honors in each for her leadership. She completed her BA and MS from Binghamton University in Mathematics and Systems Science respectively. You can follow Hadassah on Twitter @Haddie.
