October Virtual Event with Dick Orth - Thursday, October 22nd, Start Time: 6:30 PM EST A focused conversation method for leaders -- ORID (Objective, Reflective, Interpretive, Decisional) ORID is a holistic, natural discussion method that provides people with a structure for conducting a focused conversation. This powerful, yet simplistic four-step method creates forward movement towards a point of decision. Lead effective, focused conversations with teams that produce intelligent, meaningful decisions. ORID is a means of escaping the quagmire of rambling, unproductive conversations and meetings. The conversation is led by a discussion leader who takes the group through a natural series of questions that leads to decision-making. Through this discussion method, participants listen to each other's perceptions, gain a broader and deeper understanding of a common experience, explore implications and develop a plan to move forward. In this session we will identify the steps of the ORID method, identify effective questions to ask when using each of the ORID steps, and apply the ORID method to a variety business and personal conversations.
